How do I check the amount of storage Synology Drive Server uses?

Details

In Synology Drive Admin Console, you can see how much storage usage Synology Drive Server takes up in your NAS. The usage data can also be found in Storage Manager if your Synology Drive Server is located on a Btrfs file system and if the package is newly installed after updating to DSM 7.0.

Resolution

The table illustrates where you can find the usage data:

To find the figure in Synology Drive Admin Console:

Go to Synology Drive Admin Console > Settings > General > Package Usage > Usage. There are three figures available: versions, database, and Synology Office files.

To find the figure in Storage Manager:

Go to DSM > Storage Manager > Storage, click the ellipsis at the right side of the volume where Synology Drive Server is located, and select Usage Details. In the pop-up window, you will see the usage details of Synology Drive Server.1

You will not find the storage usage in the Storage Manager, if your Synology Drive Server was installed before updating to DSM 7.0. You can only find the storage usage in Storage Manager by uninstalling Synology Drive Server and its database in Package Center first and then reinstalling it. Once the package is reinstalled, Storage Manager is able to calculate the usage consumption and display it. Please refer to this article to uninstall and delete Synology Drive Server database.

Notes:

  1. For Btrfs file system, the two figures may be different due to the cloning mechanism the Btrfs file system uses.
